When all other Belgians left Wuhan due to the outbreak in the city two months ago, Jerry Van Oudenhove, a teacher with the foreign language school of Wuhan University of Bioengineering, chose to stay, becoming the only Belgian left in the city.
During the lockdown, while he continued teaching his students online, he also did indoor exercises like yoga to keep healthy.
Jerry said China's prevention measures on the COVID-19 outbreak have proven effective and educational, including wearing face masks and following the rules of not going out.
"I'm a foreigner, but not an outsider," he said.
