Chimelong Birds Park launches conservation festival

A festival promoting public awareness of the need for protection of rare birds and other species kicked off at a wetland park in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, on Thursday.
Visitors can explore the vibrant wetland paradise at Chimelong Birds Park, feel the natural charm amid the chorus of birds and embark on an immersive and educational journey through nature.
The bird park, which opened in 2004, features more than 300 species and 10,000 rare birds and animals from around the world.
"The festival's aim is to move away from superficial sightseeing and allow visitors to deeply experience the joy of rare birds and other species," said He Zhanchao, deputy general manager of Chimelong Birds Park.
Through close encounters with the wetland natives, the event aims to guide the public in understanding the ecological value of wetlands as the kidneys of the earth and promote nature conservation.
Every day, the park presents its renowned "symphony of birds" event, a large-scale natural behavior display, showcasing a spectacular scene of hundreds of birds flying together in their natural habitat.
