Shanghai Sports Festival sparks citywide fitness fun

The inaugural Shanghai Sports Festival, which concluded on Sept 22, featured a diverse array of sports and fashion activities in two of the city's iconic locations: the West Bund and Xujiahui Park.
To promote a healthy urban lifestyle, the four-day event integrated sports experience and health science popularization alongside cultural performances and exhibitions.
In the West Bund area, German sportswear company Adidas, the chief sponsor of the festival, launched a "Dance Up" collegiate dance challenge and other sports activities, including running, football, and basketball. The events attracted people with a wide range of ages, all keen to try trendy sports culture.
In addition, guided by professional coaches to ensure safety, the public participated in sports events in Xujiahui Park, including yoga, body jam, fencing, pickleball, and basketball.
The festival also attracted numerous renowned domestic and international brands involved in such things as sports equipment, sports technology, and even beauty and makeup.
Together with numerous hidden gem brands, organizers created special areas, such as the SportyChic sports market, brand pop-ups, and community activities, that aimed to provide people with a one-stop sports lifestyle experience.
