Wang Huimin, former member of the Party Committee of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and director of the inspection and supervision group of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and the National Supervisory Commission (NSC) stationed at the CSRC, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China for serious violations of Party disciplines and national laws, according to a statement issued by the CCDI and NSC on Monday.

Investigations revealed that Wang deviated from the Communist Party of China Central Committee's basic strategy of targeted poverty alleviation, abused his power, made arbitrary decisions, and caused serious consequences. He violated the spirit of the central eight-point regulations by accepting banquets and failing to report personal relevant matters in accordance with regulations.

Wang was also found to have connived and acquiesced relatives and associates using his positions and influence to seek personal gains. In addition, he used his positions to seek benefits for others in areas such as staff recruitment, enterprise listing, private placement financing and promotions. In return, Wang accepted huge amounts of property.

The CCDI and NSC have revoked official privileges enjoyed by Wang, confiscated his illegal gains, and transferred his suspected criminal cases, along with his illegal assets, to the procuratorial organs for further examination and prosecution.

Wang, 66, a native of Gansu province, began his career in 1975 and joined the Party in 1982. He worked at China Construction Bank's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region branch from 1984 and was promoted to president of the branch in 1998, holding the position till February 2002.

He went on to serve as assistant to the chairman of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region until January 2012.

From 2012 to January 2014, he served as vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Later, he became a member of the Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the CSRC.

Wang served as the director of the inspection and supervision group of the CCDI and the NSC stationed at the CSRC from December 2015 to April 2019. He was placed under investigation in March 2025.
