Jiangsu county builds partnerships in Beijing to scale up innovations
Kunshan, a top-tier county-level economy in Jiangsu province, launched a high-quality development exchange in Beijing on Saturday to strengthen partnerships with institutions in the capital.
The event aims to deepen cross-regional collaboration, strengthen ties with State-owned enterprises, universities, and research institutes, and accelerate the integration of technological and industrial innovation.
Chen Liyan, Kunshan's Party secretary, laid out the county's progress over the years and its plans for future development. "The goal is to support Beijing's '0 to 1' philosophy, and carry forward its innovations to transform and industrialize its scientific and technological achievements in Kunshan," she added.
Bai Benfeng, vice-president of Tsinghua University, lauded Kunshan's position at a critical phase of revitalizing traditional industries, expanding emerging sectors, and strategically planning for future industries, saying that its economic environment is conducive to innovation and development opportunities for young talent.
"With joint efforts, the collaboration between Tsinghua and Kunshan will yield more fruitful outcomes, contributing greater wisdom and strength to the nation's modernization and high-quality development," he added.
New initiatives unveiled include the Kunshan Talent Innovation (Beijing) Center, an OPC (one-person company) incubation base, and supportive policies for entrepreneurship. Multiple industrial, academic, and financial agreements were signed during the event.
