Former senior official of Shenzhen under investigation
Dai Beifang, former chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Shenzhen Municipal Committee in South China's Guangdong province, is currently under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation on suspicion of severe violations of Party discipline and laws, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission announced on Monday.
Dai, 69, a native of Guangdong, began his career in 1973 and joined the Communist Party of China in December 1975.
Spending his entire career in Shenzhen, Dai has held a series of key posts, including secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, Party chief of Shenzhen's Yantian district, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, and director of the Publicity Department, General Office and Organization Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee.
He became the deputy Party chief of Shenzhen in November 2012, and served as chairman of the CPPCC Shenzhen Municipal Committee from June 2015 to September 2020, before stepping down from the post due to age.
After his resignation, Dai also took up the position of president of the Shenzhen Charity Federation.
