Should reporting on pending cases banned?

Editor's Note: At an age when social media is a near-constant presence in many people's lives, some hold the view that press should be banned from reporting on pending cases for fear of influencing the judgment and harming due process. Journalist should only be allowed to report the case-related facts but not pass any judgments or suggestions which may affect the judiciary. Due to media attention and public opinion, judges may feel pressured not to announce a verdict that goes against public opinion.
